Tony Crane's reputation as a horseman will ensure he has already met bigger challenges than trying to win a $250,000 race with a filly barely rating a mention.
A Queensland trainer, Crane has arrived in Sydney with two horses and one of them will take her place in the Inglis Classic at Rosehill on Saturday.
Lady Sniper is an outsider in a race expected to be dominated by last-start Sydney winners Serenade and Odyssey Moon but Crane is quietly confident.
And he's probably entitled to be because the youngster has been a dream train compared to a lot of horses he has been asked to re-educate.
"I'm more known for fixing ratbags," Crane said.
"Anything that's a barrier rogue or a buckjumper or they say can't be ridden or anything like that, I'm your man.
"If I can't fix it I won't charge and I've never not charged anybody because I don't like doing things for free."
Lady Sniper is a last-start Brisbane provincial winner but Crane insists that modest result doesn't do justice to her talent.
"I thought she was a good thing at Doomben when the meeting got washed out and Beaudesert was a back-up plan because we were always wanting to qualify her for the Classic," Crane said.
Serenade holds favouritism over Odyssey Moon with Lady Sniper out to $15.
"I've seen both favourites race and I'm not frightened," Crane said.
Crane will bring his jockey Larry Cassidy to Sydney as they try to parlay a Brisbane black-type win last Saturday and a midweek victory at Ipswich into a significant interstate result.
They will also combine at Rosehill with last-start Doomben winner Lucky Sound in the Hong Kong Racehorse Owners Association Trophy.
