THE CF ORR STAKES - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
HISTORY
* Run over 1400 metres at Caulfield
* Notable winners since it was elevated to Group One in 1993 include Jeune (1995), Saintly (1997), Redoute's Choice (2000), Lonhro (2004), Typhoon Tracy (2010-11) and Black Caviar (2012)
* Black Caviar's sibling All Too Hard won in 2013
TALKING POINTS
* Peter Moody has trained four of the past five winners: Typhoon Tracy (2010-11), Black Caviar (2012) and Moment Of Change (2014)
* Moody is represented this year by Dissident
* Lonhro in 2004 is the last horse to complete the Orr Stakes-Australian Cup double in the same year
PATTERN: Java is hard-fit and should press forward from wide and try to use his weight to advantage. Dissident should settle close to the lead. Petrology likes to settle off the speed and can unleash a powerful turn of foot.
FANCIED RUNNERS: Dissident has won the Memsie Stakes over the course and distance and was denied in a photo under a big weight in the Rupert Clarke Stakes. Fitter after first-up third in the Australia Stakes.
BEST OF THE OUTSIDERS: Spillway showed he was sharp enough for 1400m when beaten in a photo in the PB Lawrence Stakes resuming last spring.
