The Brisbane Race Club will try to salvage something from the wash-out of its third biggest money making day of the year with a phantom meeting at Doomben.
Storms and heavy rain associated with Cyclone Marcia which hit Queensland on Friday morning forced stewards to call Saturday's races off after a brief track inspection.
Doomben had been soaked by 130mm up to 1.30pm (AEST) and there was at least that much predicted in the following 24 hours.
The Girls Day Out event is usually the third best for the club behind Stradbroke Day and the annual Wednesday Exhibition Young Members Day.
BRC Chairman Neville Bell said there had been 800 pre-bookings for the day and the events had been moved to under cover.
"We are expecting 1000 to 1200 people to attend and it will still be a great day with the southern races being televised," Bell said.
Racing Queensland will reschedule the $100,000 Falvelon Quality to next Saturday's Tattersall's Club meeting at Doomben.
