Tycoon Tara has put herself in contention for a trip to Sydney for a Group One race with her win in the Mannerism Stakes at Caulfield.
The four-year-old stamped herself as a above-average mare in the eyes of her trainer Symon Wilde with her neck victory over Choose in the Group Three race.
Sent out favourite at $3, Tycoon Tara covered ground from a wide barrier in the early stages before Ben Melham sent her forward to find the front.
The victory backed up her last-start Bellmaine Stakes win and made it four wins from six starts in a campaign which started in a benchmark race at Dunkeld.
"The progression of this horse in one preparation is quite astonishing," Wilde said.
"We always knew she had good talent and I reckon today she stamped herself as a good mare because not everything went right.
"I'll have to chat to the owners and Ben and just see what they think about the 1500 metres in Sydney, but I think we should aim high," Wilde said.
