Valuable colt Rubick will try to begin his campaign in the same fashion as he did his last, with a Group Two weight-for-age win.
The three-year-old takes on some seasoned sprinters in Saturday's Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick including the 2012 winner Rain Affair.
Rubick had two starts in the spring for victory in the Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield before finishing out of the money in the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes won by Brazen Beau.
Rain Affair's Joe Pride-trained stablemate Tiger Tees and last year's third Famous Seamus, will also begin their autumn campaigns in the Challenge with Deep Field added to the mix.
The beaten favourite when third in the Lightning Stakes won by Lankan Rupee, Deep Field is expected to be nominated on Monday.
But Rubick's trainer Gerald Ryan is more than happy with his charge.
"I was very pleased with his barrier trial and he has done everything right since," Ryan said.
"It's going to be a pretty good field but I'm happy with what I've got."
Pride would prefer a wet track for his two runners but the forecast for Sydney is for fine weather after a storm on Sunday.
Rubick is by Encosta De Lago out of Sliding Cube, a sister of champion sire Redoute's Choice.
Coolmore has already bought into Rubick and a Group One win would greatly enhance his stud value.
His sire was recently retired from active duty due to declining fertility.
The winner of three of his five starts, Rubick will go to the Galaxy second-up in pursuit of his first Group One victory.
"We will wait until after we see how he comes up before we decide whether to take on the big names in the TJ Smith," Ryan said.
