A week after TVN broadcast for the final time, a new channel dedicated to thoroughbred racing will be launched by Sky Racing on Golden Slipper day.
The new station will concentrate exclusively on thoroughbred horse racing, in contrast to the wall-to-wall footage broadcast on its sister channels Sky Racing1 and Sky Racing2 which also include harness and greyhound races.
"The decision to rebrand our thoroughbred-only channel reflects the recently announced 10-year deal with Racing NSW and the Australian Turf Club," said Gerard Patane, Sky Racing Channel general manager.
"We aim to provide a quality wagering offering for racing fans, yet deliver it in a manner which will appeal to a broader audience."
Sky Thoroughbred Central will be broadcast on Foxtel station 521 from Saturday as part of the basic pay television package.
