What the jockeys said after the $3.5 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill.
TOMMY BERRY (Vancouver) 1st: Good horses get themselves out of trouble. Like I said, `he'll win the Slipper then go on and win the Sires' and the Champagne Stakes by further'. I've got one right. I hope I'm right about the other two. He just does it so easily. He had them covered easily today. He's a pleasure to ride.
BLAKE SHINN (English) 2nd: At the 300 metre mark with the run I got, I thought we were going to win. The winner just kept kicking. Great run.
DWAYNE DUNN (Lake Geneva) 3rd: Super run. She just got held up at a vital stage at the top of the running. But she has run out of her skin.
NICK HALL (Ready For Victory) 4th: Make no mistake he would have won that race had he tracked true. It's onwards to the Sires' Produce Stakes.
GLEN BOSS (Headwater) 5th: I thought I was the winner. He gave me a good ride. He might have just bottomed out. He ran well today, but in his first prep he's probably not the finished article yet. He's a lovely colt.
HUGH BOWMAN (Furnaces) 6th: Excellent performance. He has run to his form and he fought hard when he was beaten. I was very impressed with him.
CRAIG WILLIAMS (Serenade) 7th: She ran great. She just hasn't got that tactical gate speed for a Golden Slipper two-year-old, but the way that she closed off I can't wait to get her out to seven furlongs.
RYAN MOORE (Odyssey Moon) 8th: He ran a good race. He's a tough horse. He'll be better over seven furlongs.
WILLIAM BUICK (Ottoman) 9th: She missed the start a little bit, got checked, got taken out of the race, but she run very well.
KATHY O'HARA (Single Gaze) 10th: Nice run. We got back a long way back from the barrier, but she wants 1400 metres now. She was finishing off well late.
DAMIEN OLIVER (Speak Fondly) 11th: She ran well, but just tired a bit late.
JAMES DOYLE (Haptic) 12th: He just didn't feel up to it. He jumped well and got a position, but he was beaten in two strides.
BRENTON AVDULLA (Fireworks) 13th: She has come to the end of her preparation.
STEPHEN BASTER (Haybah) 14th: Unfortunately she just doesn't run 1200 metres.
KERRIN McEVOY (Reemah) 15th: She lost her action this way of going. She was very new around the bend and she couldn't get into the race.
JAMES McDONALD (Exosphere) 16th: There's something wrong with him. He just never raced up to his best.
