A tendon injury has ruled Va Pensiero out of racing in the immediate future and trainer Jason Coyle's autumn carnival ambitions now lie with up-and-coming filly Slightly Sweet.

Group Three winning sprinter Va Pensiero suffered his second tendon injury in Saturday's Galaxy and a disappointed Coyle said he was likely to be off the scene for up to a year.

"We are only a small stable which makes it hard when you lose a horse like him," Coyle said.

"Based on last time, he will probably be off for 12 months."

Coyle gets another chance at a Group One this week when Keith Nolan Classic winner Slightly Sweet runs in the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill.

The filly's campaign has also produced a third behind Adrift and First Seal in the Light Fingers Stakes and another third in the Surround Stakes won by First Seal from Supara.

She won the Group Three Keith Nolan at Kembla Grange last Friday week by a short half head from Vinery entry Wine Tales.

"She is in very good order but this is a massive step up in grade and distance," Coyle said.

"She is only lightly framed but her pedigree on her dam's side is very stout and if she can relax in the run I think she should be able to make the progression in distance."

Slightly Sweet will be ridden by Kathy O'Hara for the Esplin family who recently celebrated Coolmore Classic success with the Peter Moody-trained Plucky Belle.

Another looking to make the grade against the VRC Oaks winner Set Square and dual Group One winner First Seal is the the Anthony Cummings-trained Miss Interiors who finished sixth in the Keith Nolan, beaten less than three lengths.

Before the Kembla Grange race, Miss Interiors was third over 1400 metres at Randwick behind Ballet Suite and second in a 1600m race at Wyong.

"She was unlucky at Wyong and couldn't get round the bend there and then she got too far back in the race at Kembla," Cummings said.

"She is a horse with both speed and stamina in her pedigree.

"I think with a little bit of luck she can be right in the race."
