Canberra Guineas winner Rom Baro has been sold and will do his future racing in Hong Kong.
The Matthew Dale-trained three-year-old was down to run in the Bendigo Guineas last Saturday but was scratched awaiting final confirmation of the sale.
The son of Time Thief had passed all the necessary X-rays and scopes before Bendigo but connections were awaiting the transfer of funds to complete the sale.
Dale said the owners had continually knocked back offers until the last one was too good to refuse.
"A lot of offers had been made on the horse which the owners, because there are 20 of them, had turned down," Dale said.
"There were persistent offers which kept coming and in the end there was an offer that was too good to refuse.
"We've put a clause in the contract that he return to the current ownership base once he's finished in Hong Kong.
"The owners want to know that when he has finished racing he can come back here and have a good home."
Rom Baro defeated Mr Bogart in the Canberra Guineas (1400m) on March 8 and was undefeated in three Canberra starts this campaign.
