Pat Carey walked away from the midweek meeting at Sandown on Wednesday with a perfect score and a promise of better things to come.
Carey saddled up Taylah's Secret to win the Sportius Global Events Handicap (1600m) and two races later stablemate Cristalina Lago was victorious in the Polytrack Handicap (1400m).
It has been a good week for Carey who had the impressive All I Survey win at Terang on Monday before his double from only two runners on Wednesday.
Cristalina Lago was ridden to victory by heavyweight apprentice Aaron Mitchell.
"I thought Aaron's claim was very effective on her," Carey said.
"He doesn't get a lot of opportunities because of his weight but if you want to claim off 60 kilos and have no dead weight, then he's your man."
Carey said the upcoming Adelaide carnival was an option for the daughter of Encosta de Lago but added 1800m may be as far as she wanted to run.
Cristalina Lago was dropping back in grade to a benchmark 64 race for three-year-old fillies after contesting the Group Two Kewney Stakes at Flemington on March 14.
"She's back to Sandown on a Wednesday from a stakes race for a reason and that is to get some winning form," Carey said.
"She's an extremely well bred filly from the Northern Meteor and Smart Missile family.
"With a pedigree like she's got, if we can get some black type it would be good for her as a broodmare."
Carey indicated the victory by Taylah's Secret, who was ridden by Jarrod Fry, may be her last run before a break.
He said it wasn't ideal racing a filly against the older mares, even in a ratings race, but added there weren't many alternatives at this time of year.
"She's a tough little Reset filly that's not all that big and has kept on improving," Carey said.
