Injured jockey Jack Hill is showing positive signs although he has not yet regained consciousness two days after a race fall at Donald.
Hill remains in Melbourne's Alfred Hospital where his condition is still listed as critical but the Victorian Jockeys Association says he is breathing on his own.
"Jack's still listed as critical but stable in ICU," a VJA statement said on Sunday.
"Hasn't regained consciousness but is breathing on his own and there are some positive signs."
After Hill's fall on Friday, the final half of the race meeting was abandoned following consultation between jockeys and stewards.
Sydney's leading apprentice Winona Costin was taken to Dubbo Hospital on Sunday after a fall at the Wellington Boot meeting.
Costin remained conscious but was complaining of neck pain and blurred vision.
