A bigger and stronger Veuvelicious will make her return to racing at Flemington on Saturday following a disappointing spring campaign.
Trainer Brent Stanley said Veuvelicious was suffering from growing pains during the spring and predicted racegoers would see a different filly in the Union Road Community Hub Trophy (1200m) on Saturday.
It was 12 months ago that Veuvelicious announced herself as a promising galloper with a Sydney autumn carnival victory in the Listed Fernhill Handicap at Randwick.
Stanley said Veuvelicious always shaped as a filly that would need time to develop and was able to win a brace of races as a two-year-old through natural ability.
She didn't come up during a five-run spring campaign but has since grown a hand and put on around 80kg in weight.
"She's a different horse this time," Stanley said.
"She was trying to mature and grow while also trying to race and she just never came up."
Veuvelicious will be tackling the Flemington straight course for the first time and comes into Saturday's race fitter for two recent barrier trials and some handy work on the training track.
Stanley said if Veuvelicious progressed as he believed she could, the filly would head to Brisbane for the Group One Queensland Oaks at Doomben on May 30.
"We'll slowly go through the preparation and see how she comes up," Stanley said.
"If she does come up as I think she will then the grand plan is she will be going to Queensland and if she tells me she wants to get to that distance, then she will go to the Oaks."
Stephen Baster, who rode the filly to her five-length maiden victory at Sandown last year, will reunite with her on Saturday.
