A key spring racing carnival meeting will be shifted to avoid a clash with this year's AFL Grand Final, Racing Victoria has confirmed.
The AFL Grand Final will be held on Saturday, October 3 and in a one-off move, the Group One Turnbull Stakes meeting at Flemington will be shifted to October 4.
Victoria's calendar for the 2015-2016 racing season will feature the introduction of Pakenham as the state's third night-racing venue.
Pakenham will also be Victoria's busiest racecourse with 38 meetings scheduled.
Sixteen Pakenham meetings will be run under lights, starting in January.
Sandown, criticised over the state of both the Hillside and Lakeside courses, has had its workload reduced from 37 meetings to 33 in 2015-2016.
There will be 557 race meetings in Victoria next season, inclduing 109 in the metropolitan area, 416 at country and 32 at picnic venues.
