Hall Mark Stakes winner Our Boy Malachi will return to Queensland after extending his winning streak in Sydney.
Tommy Berry rode the Queensland country champion to his fourth Sydney win in the Group Three 1200m sprint at Randwick on Saturday.
The gelding was third at the 400m and stormed past Craftiness and Rain Affair to claim the race by a length.
The horse is now destined for a return to his home state, but this time the six-year-old, known as the Rockhampton Rocket, is heading for the big smoke.
Co-trainer Michael Hawkes said the gelding was earmarked for Brisbane's sprint treble, the BTC Cup, the Doomben 10,000 and The Stradbroke Handicap.
"He's good enough," Hawkes said.
"He's a marvel, he just does it himself."
Our Boy Malachi had 13 races under his belt before making his way to the Hawkes stable.
The horse was bred by the Donovan family from Rockhampton, many of whom were at Randwick to see the win.
But the late Col Donovan, who died in January, was a notable absentee.
"The boys in Rocky (Rockhampton) have done a great job with him," Hawkes said.
"It's a family affair and I'm sure everyone at Rocky would be pretty proud."
Our Boy Malachi has won 17 of his 19 starts.
