Mornington trainer David Brideoake will target the Adelaide carnival with Griante to capitalise on her recent good form.
A Listed winner at Randwick in the Wenona Girl on March 7, Griante returned to Melbourne where she ran third in the Group One William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley won by Lucky Hussler.
She returned to Sydney to finish second to Avoid Lightning in the Sapphire Stakes at Randwick on April 11.
Brideoake said Griante had come out of her latest outing in fantastic order and he now plans to tackle the Group One Adelaide 1200m sprints with the four-year-old.
Another clash with Avoid Lightning is possible in the Sangster Stakes (1200m) for fillies and mares on May 2 before the Goodwood a fortnight later.
Brideoake said Griante would return to Mornington between runs.
"I'll ship her home after her first run over there," Brideoake said.
"I'd rather have her under my own eye than have her in a new environment.
"Our system is pretty well set and that's how we've been getting the results.
"We won't go changing that."
Brideoake represented Australia in show jumping on the international stage and, after branching out into training ranks, made his name originally with jumpers.
He said he had moved away from jumpers for no particular reason other than having a stable full of flat horses.
Much of Brideoake's has come from the progeny of mares he had previously trained with Listed winner Self Sense included in that group.
Self Sense just missed back-to-back Listed wins when he was nosed out of the Randwick City Stakes (2000m) by Phrases.
He was back to 1600 metres at Caulfield on Saturday but was reluctant to race inside horses and finished a disappointing 10th but his trainer said he had come out of the race well.
"It's great having two good horses in the stable as there are times when you don't have any," he said.
