In the year since her crowning moment on the racetrack, Go Indy Go has failed to live up to expectations.

But the filly is ready to make up for lost time.

The winner of the 2014 Group One Champagne Stakes, Go Indy Go had a mixed spring campaign culminating in a disappointing seventh in the VRC Oaks won by Set Square.

Her senior trainer Leon Macdonald was concerned during the spring she had not filled out as much as he would have liked and he and her owners decided to give her time to develop and not push her in the autumn.

Things have now turned around with Go Indy Go getting ready to return to the Adelaide stable of Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas after a country holiday.

"She has been at Kim McKellar's Wyndholm Park and has really enjoyed it there and put on weight," Macdonald said.

"Things are looking up and we are looking forward to the spring with her.

"She had a hard campaign aimed at the Oaks and it didn't work out."

McKellar's Wyndholm Park near Werribee is where the Macdonald-trained 2008 Victoria Derby winner Rebel Raider stands at stud and is also a rehabilitation and agistment centre.

While he admits it is ambitious, Macdonald has the Caulfield Cup as a target and takes confidence from Go Indy Go's family ties.

She is closely related to the Macdonald-trained Southern Speed, winner of the 2011 Caulfield Cup.

Go Indy Go's dam Elegant Eagle is a sister of Golden Eagle, the mother of Southern Speed.

The family traits don't extend to Go Indy Go's brother Essay Raider, Elegant Eagle's first foal and the winner of six races from 1000 to 1200 metres for Macdonald and Gluyas.

Essay Raider could join stablemate Daytona Grey in the Group One Goodwood with the latter earning his way with a Group Three win on Saturday.
