A forecast for rain hasn't dampened the enthusiasm of trainer John Sadler ahead of the Anzac Day meeting at Flemington.
Sadler will run last-start Sandown winner Charmed Harmony in the William Malone/Auckland Racing Club Trophy on Saturday.
Charmed Harmony dislikes firm tracks and Sadler says the forecast for rain is welcome news for the five-year-old.
The son of Hussonet carried 61kg to victory in a benchmark 78 race at Sandown on April 6 and drops to 57kg on Saturday in benchmark 90 class.
Flemington is renowned for its superior drainage and ability to soak up rain but Sadler says Charmed Harmony will appreciate any give in the ground.
"He's not a horse that needs it really wet, it's just that he doesn't like it firm," Sadler said.
While Sadler said Charmed Harmony's preferred trip was 1400 metres, he wasn't concerned about the 1200m journey up the straight.
"The straight can suit horses that like it a little further and hopefully it will suit him on Saturday," Sadler said.
Sadler will also run consistent mare Marli Magic in the William Newton VC Handicap over 1600m.
A winner at Cranbourne and Moonee Valley in January, Marli Magic hasn't raced since finishing unplaced at Caulfield on April 4 when she was beaten just over 2-1/2 lengths.
Sadler said the mare had a tough run at Caulfield and had taken time to recover.
"She seems alright but that last run did knock her around a bit," Sadler said.
"Hopefully she'll give a good account of herself."
