I've Got The Looks claims Silk Stocking

Aptly named mare I've Got The Looks made the most of a favourable weight scale when she earned black-type at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

I've Got The Looks is a magnificent-looking chestnut mare who has a history of bad luck in stakes races.

Ridden treat by Glen Boss, I've Got The Looks, the $2.60 favourite scored by a length to Estonian Princess ($8) in the Listed Silk Stocking (1200m).

Trainer Peter Snowden said he was delighted I've Got The Looks had broken through to finally get a stakes win beside her name.

"She hasn't had much luck in black-type races but today's race looked perfect for her," he said.

"She really got the best of the weights and it told at the finish," he said.

I've Got The Looks was the second top-rated mare in the race but got in 0.5kg over the limit at 54.5kg.

Snowden said I've Got The Looks would remain in Brisbane for the winter but a start in the Group One Tatts Tiara on June 20 was no certainty.

I've Got The Looks was prepared by the late Guy Walter and had one run for his widow Wendy before she retired from training.

It was Boss's third win in the Silk Stocking after scoring on Lady Nickelii in 1995 and Srikandi 12 months ago.
