Trainer Dan O'Sullivan will be keeping an eye on the weather with Beer Garden ahead of the Galleywood Hurdle at Warrnambool.
While Beer Garden handles all types of going, O'Sullivan says a firmer track will be the key to the rising nine-year-old's chances.
Warrnambool was rated in the slow range on Tuesday for the first of three days of racing.
Beer Garden goes into Wednesday's hurdle over 3200m as the winner of two of his past three starts over jumps, including one at Warrnambool.
Those two runs were punctuated with a third placing over 3600m at Oakbank over the Easter carnival.
O'Sullivan said it wasn't the trip that counted against Beer Garden at Oakbank.
While the track was officially rated soft, O'Sullivan said it was more in the heavy range.
Beer Garden appreciated getting back to a firmer track when successful at Ballarat at his latest outing on April 23 when he defeated Wai Not P'Roni and Stand To Gain, both opponents on Wednesday.
"He's good and sound and the biggest thing with him is he's shown he's a much better horse on a drier track," O'Sullivan said.
O'Sullivan said he wouldn't be worried stepping back up to a longer trip with Beer Garden, providing the track was a little more forgiving.
"If you want to be critical at Oakbank he did a bit of work up the hill both times," O'Sullivan said.
"It was his first time at 3600 metres on a pretty tough track, so I wouldn't be afraid to go 3600 metres with him again now."
Beer Garden is on the fourth line of betting at $6.50 for the Galleywood behind Fieldmaster at $3.20 with Gotta Take Care and Urban Explorer sharing the second line of betting at $4.40.
