Dual Group One winner Trust In A Gust will miss the BTC Cup with a minor leg injury and will be assessed over the next few days.
Trust In A Gust suffered superficial wounds when he was being loaded on to a flight to Brisbane in the early hours of Friday morning.
Trainer Darren Weir decided to return the four-year-old to his Ballarat stable.
Weir's racing manager Jeremy Rogers said Trust In A Gust would be examined over the next 48 hours before a decision was made on his immediate future.
"He suffered a few cuts and abrasions and we made the decision to not send him to Brisbane," Rogers said.
"We'll have to see how it all settles down over the next couple of days and see where we go from there."
Trust In A Gust was heading to Brisbane for a three-run campaign and the Doomben 10,000 and the Stradbroke Handicap are still among the options before his retirement to Swettenham Stud.
He also holds an entry to the Goodwood Handicap (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday week.
Trust In A Gust won the Group One double of Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) and Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield last spring.
He returned from a six month break with a close second to Red Bomber in a 1200m race at Caulfield on April 18.
