A combination that struck a lucrative payday during the Sydney autumn carnival will reunite at Scone on Saturday to chase an even bigger war chest.
Jason Collett landed the most significant win of his career when he took out the $300,000 Provincial Championship Final aboard Sure And Fast at Randwick last month.
It's an achievement he is poised to eclipse on Saturday when he rides the Bede Murray-trained favourite in the $400,000 Inglis 3YO Guineas at Scone.
Collett heads to the two-day carnival in superb form with five city winners in the past seven days, highlighted by a treble at Rosehill on Saturday.
Although, the typically understated jockey offers a more modest self appraisal.
"Things are ticking along nicely," Collett said.
Unsurprisingly, Collett has been snapped up for rides in five of the six stakes races with Sure And Fast at $3.20 regarded as his best chance.
Collett and Murray will also combine with Fine Mist in the Listed Denise's Joy Stakes, the filly earning her place at Scone with a last-start fourth to Avoid Lightning in the Group Two Sapphire Stakes.
"She struck a soft track, she was up in grade and she performed well," Collett said of Fine Mist's Randwick effort.
"That said to us that she's up to this. She has improved every start she's had."
Collett's remaining black-type mounts include All Cerise for Chris Waller in the Dark Jewel Classic and the Clarry Conners-trained Decision Time who he expects to run an improved race in the Ortensia Stakes.
