BlueBlood Thoroughbreds Connections celebrate winning the third race at the Scone Saturday city meet with Encostanati today. The son of champion sire Encosta De Lago showed he had too much speed to win easy in the end to record another city win for the Blue silks of BlueBlood’s.
Encostanati has now won three races and has taken his prize money to over $176,000. It was no surprise for BlueBlood’s racing Manager David Mourad who commented “The boy trialed very handy on the 24th April at Warwick Farm, winning his trial by a gap of 5 lengths and there were some handy horses in that trial, so I was very confident with my owners coming here to Scone today”.
Encostanati was ridden perfect by Jockey Brenton Avdulla who also commented that he did it easy and had the race won a long way from home . It was a great first up training effort by Bjorn Baker who had only trialed Encostanati once coming into today’s 1100m sprint.
