I've Got The Looks to stretch brilliance

Friday 22 May 2015, 1:55pm

In-form mare I've Got The Looks heads into uncharted territory in her bid to maintain an unbeaten stakes record in Queensland.

Co-trainer Peter Snowden believes the mare is up to the task again in Saturday's Glenlogan Park Stakes at Doomben as the sprinter races over the longest journey of her career.

I've Got The Looks has won the Listed Silk Stocking at the Gold Coast and the Listed Juanmo Stakes at Doomben over 1200m this campaign and is favourite to add the Group Three Glenlogan Park Stakes.

"She is going to 1350 metres for the first time but her form has been good winning both starts this preparation," Snowden, who trains in partnership with his son Paul, said.

"She's drawn a nice gate (7) to get a similar sort of run again.

"She has run good time in both her wins and she certainly hasn't gone backwards."

The mare will be again be ridden by Blake Shinn who racked up five stakes winners on his last visit to Doomben on May 9, three for the Snowdens including the Group Three BRC Sprint on Charlie Boy and Group One BTC Cup on Hot Snitzel.

Charlie Boy will have to overcome a wide barrier if he is to add the Doomben 10,000 to his BRC Sprint win and give the Snowdens their sixth top-level win for the season.

"Barrier 16 is not ideal," Snowden said.

"He probably faces a tough task of winning but he needs this run to keep him going towards the Stradbroke which is his ultimate goal."
