Third Kent apprentice heading off overseas

Jake Bayliss is the latest Victorian apprentice chosen to head off on an overseas adventure.

Bayliss will represent Australia in the second heat of the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championships in Poland on May 31.

Apprenticed to Mick Kent, Bayliss tweeted he was "absolutely wrapped to be given the opportunity to represent Australia in the World Championship race in Poland".

Ben Thompson, another Kent apprentice, won the opening heat of the series in Kentucky last weekend.

A third Kent apprentice, Beau Mertens, is heading to Paris on June 14 for the Prix Longines Future Rising Stars event at Chantilly where he will take on the best local young riders as well as apprentices from the US, South Africa, Japan and Turkey.
