Craig Williams will be chasing Group One success at Doomben on Saturday, putting his Melbourne jockeys' premiership lead at risk.
Williams rides at the Queensland Oaks meeting as Dwayne Dunn and Damien Oliver, who are hot on Williams's heels in the Melbourne jockeys' title, will be in action at Moonee Valley.
Dunn has seven rides and sits one behind Williams who has ridden 45 metropolitan winners this season.
Oliver is another win behind and he has five rides at Moonee Valley.
"Brisbane (carnival) is coming up now so a few of us will be going back and forth," Dunn said.
"It's going to be really tight to the wire."
With 18 metropolitan meetings left, the premiership race is poised to be the closest since Luke Nolen beat Craig Newitt by five wins in 2011/12.
Oliver and Williams finished tied in the 2008-09 season and shared the title.
Williams's rides at Doomben include Ungrateful Ellen in the Oaks.
John Sadler has booked Dunn to ride at Moonee Valley and is hoping the top jockey can overcome a wide gate on three-year-old Secret Blend in the Thanks Bellajinsky Handicap.
"To off-set that we do have a very good jockey on board," Sadler said.
Oliver has the ride on Group-placed Manhattan Avenue in the same race, while his book includes Secret Bullet, an early favourite to win the stayers' race on the nine-event card.
