A former Gai Waterhouse galloper which found his way to Singapore makes his Moonee Valley debut on Saturday.
Marseille Roulette has his first run for the Peter Moody stable in the Training Port Melbourne Handicap (1200m).
After five runs in Sydney for Waterhouse, including a debut win at Rosehill in January 2013, Marseille Roulette was sent to Singapore after finishing well back in the Golden Rose.
Trained by Hideyuki Takaoka, who prepared El Dorado to win three Singapore Gold Cups and Jolie's Shinju who ventured to Melbourne and finished third in a Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley, Marseille Roulette won two of his 10 starts in Singapore.
Marseille Roulette hasn't raced since October and in preparation for his return won a 990m Cranbourne barrier trial on May 11, although Moody said the four-year-old will be improved by the outing on Saturday.
"He's a big boisterous stallion that I think is going to need a bit of racing to find his best," Moody said.
Moody has had several horses from Asian stables come his way in recent months including Mirage, a last-start placegetter at Randwick last Saturday.
"I've had a couple from Hong Kong but I don't think I've had one from Singapore before," Moody said.
"This one is owned by a Japanese client who rang me one day and asked if I would take the horse."
