While many two-year-olds are in the spelling paddock ahead of spring campaigns, there is still plenty for the late-season youngsters including two races on the Rosehill program.

Monday's public holiday meeting features a 1500m race for experienced juveniles while the 1100m event has 10 first starters including the Gerald Ryan-trained Kamacite.

The half brother to stakes winner Tromso was one of the TAB's favourites on Sunday and his trainer is looking forward to his debut.

"He has had two trials and run well both times," Ryan said.

"This is a very strong two-year-old maiden but he is a nice colt and I see no reason why he won't run well."

Ryan will have three runners on his home track with Kamacite joined by Miss Hufflepuff and Lonnero, both of whom he has inherited from the Chris Waller stable.

The two run in separate 1400m races with Miss Hufflepuff having her first start for Ryan and Lonnero looking to build on two recent wins for his new stable.

"Miss Hufflepuff is a big, gross mare who had an injury-enforced spell and may need the run," Ryan said.

"But I was pleased with her trials."

The mare has finished third and fourth in trials over 1030 and 1200 metres.

Lonnero finished fourth over 1350m at Wyong at his first start for Ryan before recording wins over 1300 and 1400 metres at Newcastle and Goulburn.

"He is going up in class but drops five kilos on his Goulburn win and this looks like a nice race for him over a nice journey," Ryan said.

The trainer said Saturday's two-year-old winner at Randwick, Spill The Beans, would be spelled with late spring races in mind.

"He has won two races from two starts all in his first preparation," Ryan said.

"He came to me from Paul Messara and in his first week he got cast in his box and hurt a foot joint.

"He had five months off and has done a great job."

Spill The Beans is raced by the Messara family's Arrowfield Stud.

He is one of several horses Paul Messara sent to other trainers when he cut back his team to concentrate on his new role as manager at Arrowfield.
