While her tearaway win in the Stayers Cup has earned Lovethebeaches a trip to Queensland, three of the jockeys of the horses behind her have been handed a dressing down.
A week after the mare won the 3200m race at Randwick after putting 120m on the field mid-race, stewards concluded an inquiry into why she had been allowed to do so.
Christian Reith, Sam Clipperton and Winona Costin were all put on notice for setting their horses impossible tasks.
Explanations from the four other riders were accepted.
Racing NSW chief steward Ray Murrihy told the trio that while there was a case that putting their horses under pressure may have dented their chances, more effort was needed.
Murrihy said stewards accepted a faster than usual sectional between the 1000m and the 800m could not be anticipated and was a factor in the riders' favour.
"We had to consider whether any riders were culpable and whether you took all reasonable measure," Murrihy said.
"You allowed the horse to pinch the race but in the end we did not consider the riding blameworthy.
"But you allowed the horse to pinch the race."
The Steve Hodge-trained Lovethebeaches will head north for the Queensland Cup over the same distance at the Sunshine Coast on July 4.
