Jockey Amy Herrmann in hospital after fall

Friday 19 June 2015, 4:31pm

Jockey Amy Herrmann has been taken to hospital after a fall in a jumps trial at Morphettville.

Herrmann came off when her mount stumbled and fell after jumping the final hurdle.

Kevin Ring, the National Health and Safety Officer for the Australian Jockeys' Association, said Herrmann was semi-conscious when she was taken to hospital.

"We are waiting on the results of scans," Ring said.

A Thoroughbred Racing South Australia statement said Herrmann was treated at the scene by medical staff before being transferred by ambulance to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Herrman is an accomplished rider on the flat and also rides over jumps.
