Positive news about injured Amy Herrmann

Saturday 20 June 2015, 4:27pm

Amy Herrmann remains in an induced coma after a fall but the jockey's father says her injuries are not as serious as first feared.

Herrmann was taken to Royal Adelaide hospital on Friday after a fall in a jumps trial at Morphettville.

She came off when her mount stumbled and fell after jumping the final hurdle.

"I am pleased to report that Amy's injuries are not as serious as we first feared," Peter Herrmann said in a statement released by Thoroughbred Racing South Australia.

"Although she remains in an induced coma, her doctors are positive about her prognosis.

"She is receiving the very best of medical care and our sincere thanks go to the ambulance crews and the staff at the Royal Adelaide Hospital."

Herrmann is an accomplished rider on the flat and also rides over jumps.
