Apprentice Sairyn Fawke is in Royal Brisbane Hospital being monitored for injuries suffered in a three-horse fall at Rockhampton.
A Racing Queensland statement said Fawke was responsive and surrounded by family in the neurosurgical unit after scans indicated some internal injuries.
Fawke fell from Power Ranger in Saturday's Rockhampton Cup while Adrian Coome who came off Choice Bro and Brad Stewart who fell from Vandalised were relatively unscathed.
Adelaide jockey Amy Herrman also remains in hospital after falling in a jumps trial at Morphettville on Friday when her horse stumbled.
She was placed in an induced coma but her father Peter said in a statement her injuries were not as serious as first feared and doctors were positive about her prognosis.
