A horse from the Matt Laurie stable has returned a positive test to the banned drug methamphetamine, sparking a stewards investigation.
A post-race urine sample taken from two-year-old Shockaholic after the gelding won a maiden at Echuca on April 24 showed the presence of methamphetamine, which has the street name "Ice".
Laurie and his stable staff have all been tested as part of Racing Victoria stewards' ongoing investigation.
Scone trainer Luke Griffith was last month banned for four years after three of his horses tested positive to the stimulant.
In handing down the penalty, Racing NSW stewards found Griffith did not deliberately treat the horses with the illegal drug.
