The Royal Ascot conqueror of Australian sprinter Brazen Beau has emerged as a wishlist horse for the Melbourne spring carnival.
Undrafted defeated Brazen Beau in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and a rematch was scheduled for the July Cup at Newmarket on July 5.
But Undrafted will now be aimed at The Sprint Cup at Haydock on September 5.
And Racing Victoria recruiter Leigh Jordon said the timing of that race opens up the possibility of Undrafted coming to Australia.
He said he would contact Undrafted's United States trainer Wesley Ward to pass on details of the VRC Sprint Classic at Flemington on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival.
"I was going to catch up with Wesley at the July Cup and having spoken to him in the past he has said he would love to have a runner down at the Melbourne Cup carnival," Jordon told radio station RSN.
If Undrafted makes his way to Flemington he would be running for a $600,000 bonus as part of the Global Sprint Series having won the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
Jordon heads to Europe next week to spread the word about the Melbourne spring carnival among UK trainers and he will attend the July Cup meeting.
