Country racing is bread and butter for many trainers but not so, it seems, Bryce Stanaway.
In an apparent protest at being denied a sandwich in the winner's bar at Pakenham on Sunday, Stanaway scratched his final three runners and took them home.
Stewards spoke to Stanaway and allowed him to withdraw the horses and said they would discuss the matter with Pakenham club officials.
Stanaway took five horses to the meeting from his stable at Torquay, about two hours from Pakenham.
He had two runners earlier in the day which finished out of the placings.
