Visiting Melbourne apprentice Regan Bayliss has had a day to remember on his first visit to Sydney with a winning double at Randwick.
The 18-year-old came to Saturday's meeting with three rides for his master Peter Moody but because he could not use his claim on It's About You, he was replaced by Winona Costin.
He had no weight problems with Kenjorwood or Noela's Choice getting the two into the winners' circle.
"It's great to get two winners with my first two rides in Sydney," Bayliss said.
"I was tossing up whether to ride at Flemington but decided to come here.
"Kenjorwood is one of my favourite horses.
"Unfortunately, I couldn't ride It's About You. The rules are different here.
"In Melbourne it's up to the connections if they will let you ride without the claim.
"But it's been a dream come true."
Tommy Berry also had two winners, both for the Hawkes stable, reducing the number of chances for Hugh Bowman and Blake Shinn who are in a battle with James McDonald for the Sydney premiership.
Shinn managed one winner, Kimberley Star for Gai Waterhouse, taking him to within one win of McDonald who is due back from England next week.
"I'm just taking it as it comes," Shinn said.
"It's another day at the office and I've got a job to do for the owners."
Bowman failed to ride a winner and remains 2-1/2 wins behind McDonald.
Both Shinn and Bowman left Sydney as soon as the meeting finished to fly to Singapore where they will ride at the Derby meeting.
Apprentice Claire Nutman, Jason Collett and Brenton Avdulla were the others to ride winners at Randwick.
