Early season black-type races will be on the agenda for Grisbi's Run if she can complete a winning hat-trick at Moonee Valley.

After victories at Geelong and Ballarat, the John McArdle trained two-year-old will be out to add the Telstra Business Centre Dandenong Handicap (1000m) to her record on Wednesday.

If successful, or if she can produce a good run from what McArdle describes a tricky draw of barrier seven, the Group Three Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 15 could prove a suitable race.

"If she ran well then we'll probably look towards the Quezette," McArdle said.

"While she's rock hard fit some of those better fillies might not be.

"If she runs well we'll have a crack at that and let it tell us where we stand in the scheme of things."

McArdle said Grisbi's Run had shown plenty of ability from the outset but maturity had counted against her.

He said that while the filly was still doing things wrong in her races, she was slowly ironing out those problems.

Grisbi's Run will be having her second outing at Moonee Valley, having finished sixth to Belhamage, an opponent on Wednesday, in January, but McArdle said there were excuses for that poor showing.

"She galloped super leading into it," McArdle said.

"And that was probably her race, that last bit of work.

"She's come back well but still makes a fair few mistakes, but is now a more tougher, mature horse."

McArdle is confident Moonee Valley's heavy eight track rating won't pose a problem after the filly scored on a slow six at Ballarat a fortnight ago.

"The Savoire Vivres, I've trained a lot of them, tend to enjoy a bit of cut in the ground and we'll have those conditions at Moonee Valley," McArdle said.

Stablemate Trouble In Vegas, another by Savoire Vivre, lines up in the Telstra Business Centre Richmond Handicap (1600m).
