Melbourne Cup winning trainer Brian Jenkins has had a one month suspension put on hold following a hearing before the RAD Board on Tuesday.
He was however fined $1000 after pleading guilty to two breaches of a rule that does not allow medication to be administered on raceday without the permission of stewards.
Jenkins, who won the 1998 Melbourne Cup with Jezabeel, had Crown Halo and Seguro scratched from the Pakenham meeting on June 25 after Vicks VapoRub was found to have been administered to the pair.
Jenkins can continue to train on the condition he does not commit a similar offence in the 12 months.
Vicks VapoRub contains the active ingredients camphor and menthol which act as a decongestant and are prohibited substances under the rules of racing.
Training partners Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra were fined after Epic Saga returned a positive test to Clenbuterol, a decongestant and bronchodilator, following a post-race urine sample taken after the gelding's success in the Tatura Cup on April 4.
The Flemington based trainers pleaded guilty to a charge of taking Epic Saga to race with a prohibited substance in his system.
Epic Saga was disqualified from the win.
