Ryan Moore monitors neck injury

Saturday 25 July 2015, 7:35am

Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup winning jockey Ryan Moore has played down reports he could be out of action for the rest of the year.

Moore suffered a neck injury when his mount reared up and became trapped under the stalls on the opening day of the July meeting at Newmarket.

There had been speculation Moore would not ride again this year but the three-time British champion said nothing had been decided.

"Regarding my injury, I would just like to say that nothing has been decided about my return date," Moore said in his Betfair blog.

"As I said last week, we are monitoring it day by day, week by week but, contrary to reports during the week, nothing has been determined regarding where or when I am likely to return to race riding."
