Brenton Avdulla has been booked to ride Italian Derby winner Goldstream in a Grade One race in America, pending the approval of his visa application.
The top Sydney jockey said he was approached by owners Australian Bloodstock a week ago and sounded out for the mount in the Secretariat Stakes at Arlington on August 15.
"They bought the import after his Italian Derby win and he looks pretty smart," Avdulla said.
"They've confirmed that they want me on him and as long as it (Avdulla's visa application) all comes through US Customs and it's all sweet then I'm right to go."
Aidan O'Brien won the Secretariat Stakes with Adelaide last year before bringing the horse to Australia where he won the Cox Plate.
Australian Bloodstock have similar aspirations for Goldstream, who is unbeaten in five starts.
Along with a change of ownership, the horse has also changed stables and is now under the care of Andreas Wohler who won last year's Melbourne Cup with Protectionist.
Avdulla will ride in Sydney this Saturday when his mounts include the Anthony Cummings-trained Aomen in the Group Two Missile Stakes at Randwick.
