Apprentice Brodie Loy has been taken to Liverpool Hospital for scans following a heavy fall in the fourth race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Loy was aboard Kiwi Eletist which was travelling in second spot when it appeared to shy at the crossing, dislodging Loy just past the 1400-metre mark.
Several riders were unable to avoid the fallen jockey who was assessed by medical staff on-course.
Presiding steward Greg Rudolph said Loy was believed to have fractured his left elbow in the incident and also suffered an injury to his left shoulder.
He has been taken to Liverpool Hospital for scans and replaced on his remaining rides at the meeting.
