Much-travelled galloper Cum Dividend could hit the road again soon to avoid Brisbane's rock hard tracks.
Cum Dividend, an impressive last start winner, has accepted for the Brisbane Centre For Pain Management Open (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.
However, trainer Liam Birchley is waiting on a track report before making a final decision on whether to start Cum Dividend.
"I will probably walk the track Saturday morning and make a decision then. The track was very fast last Saturday and they were running records all day."
"It wouldn't suit Cum Dividend. He needs a bit of give in the track and I don't want to risk him," Birchley said.
He said an option was to take Cum Dividend to Sydney where the tracks have been softer.
"Cum Dividend would also get into some of those races down there with a lighter weight. They get up in the weights very quickly here once they win a race," Birchley said.
Cum Dividend is no stranger to interstate racing having campaigned early in his career in Victoria before joining Birchley who has taken him to the Wagga and Rockhampton carnivals this year.
Meanwhile, Birchley's star three-year-olds Hardline and Blueberry Hill both had jump-outs on Tuesday in preparation for possible spring missions in the south.
"Hardline wasn't knocked around in his jump-out but went well. I am thinks about the Melbourne spring with him but first he will have another jump-out or trial," Birchley said.
He said Blueberry Hill was on course for a tilt at the Group One Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill on September 12.
"She will probably have her first run in Sydney in a fortnight and then press on. She would probably need a wet track in the Golden Rose but she deserves a go," he said.
