Kavanagh, O'Brien appeal prizemoney freeze

Thursday 6 August 2015, 6:40pm

Mark Kavanagh and Danny O'Brien have appealed a stewards ruling to freeze their prizemoney percentage earned in Group and Listed races until their cobalt charges are heard.

Kavanagh and O'Brien are among five trainers in Victoria facing charges relating to elevated levels of cobalt.

Peter Moody and the partnership of Lee and Shannon Hope have not appealed the prizemoney ruling.

The five trainers each fronted stewards last week to show cause why they should not be stood down until their respective cases are heard in front of the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board.

Stewards did not stand the trainers down but on Monday said they would freeze the prizemoney won.

The Hopes are the only ones to have a date set for their RAD Board hearing which starts on October 15.
