Manageress has raced to her second impressive Flemington win of a campaign that could have the Group Two Matriarch Stakes as a spring target.
The Colin and Cindy Alderson-trained four-year-old won the Rivette Series Final last month at Flemington before finishing fourth at her most recent start in the lucrative Vobis Gold Heath at Caulfield.
On Saturday, Manageress settled midfield in a 2000m benchmark race for fillies and mares and was travelling strongly on the turn before apprentice Michael Dee sent the mare through a gap to hit the front.
The daughter of Magnus held a two-length advantage over Boogielicious with Musica Royale running home well from the tail of the field for third.
Saturday's win came at Manageress's seventh start of her preparation.
"We were a bit unsure whether she might have had enough, but that was probably one of her best wins," Cindy Alderson said.
"She seemed to have it under control a fair way out."
Alderson said Manageress had been a revelation and the Matriarch Stakes over 2000m for mares at Flemington on November 7 could be a long-range target race.
"Flemington seems to suit her," the co-trainer said.
