Ruby Walsh and Bashboy reign supreme

Champion Irish jockey Ruby Walsh has ridden Bashboy to his history-making third win in the Grand National Steeplechase at Ballarat.

Walsh was recruited for Sunday's race when Steven Pateman was unsuccessful in his appeal against a careless riding suspension.

The 10-time leading jumps jockey in Ireland had the Ciaron Maher-trained Bashboy up near the lead all the way and the 12-year-old fought off Thubiaan in the straight.
