Jumps jockey Aaron Lynch has been outed on an improper riding charge for his win on Zataglio in the City of Ballarat Steeplechase.
Fellow rider Lee Horner was also suspended from the same race when his mount Another Legend fell at the second-last obstacle.
Racing Victoria stewards charged Lynch for riding Zataglio inwards and crowding Another Legend for room.
Lynch was suspended for three weeks, which takes in 12 jumps and highweight races, after pleading guilty to the charge.
Horner had gained an inside run approaching the turn and Lynch said he was holding his line going into the jump.
"We expect riders, irrespective of how they got there, to look after fellow riders," presiding steward Corey Waller told Lynch.
Horner was suspended for three jumps races for carelessness after attempting a run on the inside of Zataglio at the 500m mark when there was insufficient room.
