Tasmania, Darwin and SA get race coverage

Friday 28 August 2015, 5:44pm

Victorian racing can now be seen in every state and territory of Australia with Southern Cross Television to begin free-to-air broadcasting of races from Monday.

Racing Victoria announced on Friday that Southern Cross Television would broadcast Racing.com in Tasmania and regional areas of South Australia, incorporating Broken Hill, on channel 68 and into Darwin on channel 78.

Racing.com officially launches on Saturday with the Memsie Stakes program from Caulfield hosted by Bruce McAvaney.

The Caulfield and Rosehill meetings will also be shown on free-to-air through 7TWO from 2pm.

Racing Victoria's hopes of having the Racing.com coverage on the pay-TV platform for the launch meeting seems to be diminishing.
