A rain-sodden track has forced the postponement of the barrier trials at Cranbourne to Friday.
A set of 18 trials was to be held on Wednesday with some big spring prospects engaged.
The trials were called off early on Wednesday morning after 10mm of rain on Monday night and a further 2mm on Tuesday night left the track a heavy 10 with an even wetter section of grass near the 600m.
Our Ivanhowe, an acceptor for the Group One Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington on Saturday, is down to trial in the opening heat over 1550m.
Ethiopia, who was ordered to trial after he finished with an irregular heart rhythm when last in the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley last Saturday, will go around in the second heat over 1190m.
Other spring carnival contenders expected to have trials include Srikandi, Chloe In Paris, Fontiton, Politeness, My Poppette and Scratchy Bottom.
