Well-performed Tasmanian galloper Banca Mo has died of a suspected heart attack.
Racing Victoria stewards confirmed the Scott Brunton-trained Banca Mo, a Mornington and Warrnambool Cup winner, died on Thursday morning at Cranbourne.
Banca Mo cost just $2000 and earned more than $800,000 prizemoney during his career.
The gelding's Mornington Cup win had earned him a ballot exemption into this year's $3 million Caulfield Cup.
The eight-year-old was entered for Saturday's MRC Foundation Cup at Caulfield.
Banca Mo made his debut with a win at Hobart in May, 2011 and notched 12 wins from his 37 starts.
