Precautions to conquer the heat proved unnecessary at Rosehill on Saturday as Sydney escaped the searing weather in other parts of the state.

The decision to put the meeting back two hours was made on Friday night amid welfare concerns when the forecast was for temperatures of more than 40 degrees.

The maximum at Rosehill was in the mid-30s with cloud cover ensuring comfortable conditions for racing.

But it seems no matter what the weather, the indomitable march to a Sydney training record by Chris Waller cannot be stopped with a double to the stable coming on top of three winners at Canterbury on Friday.

Waller took time out from the Gold Coast Magic Millions sale to make a flying visit home to watch Calming Influence and Royal Descent win the first two races.

Because of the late start, he was in transit to Queensland and missed the win of Triple Elegance in the Magic Millions Cup at the Gold Coast meeting.

The trainer is now on 88-1/2 wins for 2012-13 with 6-1/2 months of the season remaining to better the mark of 156 held by Tommy Smith and Gai Waterhouse.

While doubles and trebles are common for Waller, they are a little less so for jockey Josh Parr who celebrated two Rosehill winners.

Parr won aboard the Peter Snowden-trained Kukri with a well-judged front running ride to take the Become An ATC Member (1900m) before claiming the Cloudy Bay Handicap (1100m) on Melbourne visitor Hadronica.

The Leon Corstens-trained mare got a cosy run and unleashed a powerful sprint to beat I'm Mary Too by 1-1/4 lengths.

Earlier this week Corstens expressed some concerns over Hadronica's ability to run a strong 1100m but Parr said the race worked to his advantage.

"We got a nice suck-up into the race," he said.

"She got a pretty easy time of it and was able to get a drag to the top of the straight.

"In the end it was a strong win."

The race didn't work out for the favourite Matignon who raced ungenerously under Rod Quinn early then was held up for a run in the straight before running fifth.

The Guy Walter-trained mare missed her scheduled race a week ago due to a bout of colic but showed enough in the latter part of the race to suggest she was on the right track.
