As Chris Waller continues to build his stable with freshly imported stayers and newly bought yearlings there is still room for the veterans who have helped cement him as Sydney's leading trainer.

Danleigh heads the cast with the nine-year-old to run in a barrier trial on Tuesday ahead of an autumn campaign that is a mirror of the past three seasons.

Waller said there was no reason to deviate from the tried and true path of the Group Two Expressway Stakes (1200m) on February 9, the Group Two Apollo (1400m) two weeks later and the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) on March 9.

All three races are at Warwick Farm.

Danleigh won the 2010 Apollo and finished third to stablemate Rangirangdoo in the Chipping Norton then won the Group One the following year.

In 2012, he was third in the Apollo and second to another stablemate, Shoot Out, in the Chipping Norton.

"He is very forward and will trial on Tuesday," Waller said.

"The Expressway will be his first-up run again. We'll follow the same path with him.

"Shoot Out will run first-up in the Apollo. He's not quite forward enough for the Expressway."

Both will be among the stable's entries for the Doncaster Mile which close on Tuesday.

Missing from the line-up will be 2010 Doncaster winner Rangirangdoo who will be aimed at the Queensland winter carnival which will be his swan song.

"His owner Neville Morgan comes from Queensland so the aim is to give him a longer rest and get him ready for the winter," Waller said.

"It will be his last campaign and it would be great if he could go out a winner up there."

Also a nine-year-old, Rangirangdoo ran Manighar to a half head in the Ranvet Stakes last autumn and finished a neck behind Shoot Out in the George Main Stakes in September.

Waller bought several yearlings at the Magic Millions January sale on the Gold Coast and is about to take charge of a consignment of horses purchased at the Tattersalls sale in England in October.
